The Ant and the Butterfly

A  — 4: best  — Кон­текст тре­бу­ет ис­поль­зо­ва­ния пре­вос­ход­ной сте­пе­ни при­ла­га­тель­но­го good: good−better−(the) best: луч­шие.

B  — 2: spent  — Кон­текст тре­бу­ет ис­поль­зо­ва­ния гла­го­ла spend в Past Simple, так как ранее в тек­сте ис­поль­зу­ет­ся вре­мен­ной мар­кер (time marker) Once upon a time: spent (про­во­ди­ли).

C  — 3: was doing  — Не­об­хо­ди­мо ис­поль­зо­вать гла­гол do в Past Continuous (was/were + Ving), на это ука­зы­ва­ет союз while и од­но­вре­мен­ное дей­ствие во вто­рой части пред­ло­же­ния (..., but the ant was working hard all day.): was doing (за­ни­ма­лась, де­ла­ла).
