The Golden Egg

A  — 3: was  — Кон­текст тре­бу­ет ис­поль­зо­ва­ния гла­го­ла to be в Past Simple, так как ранее в тек­сте ис­поль­зу­ет­ся вре­мен­ной мар­кер (time marker) Once upon a time: was (был).

B  — 1: thought  — Кон­текст тре­бу­ет ис­поль­зо­ва­ния гла­го­ла think в Past Simple: thought (думал).

C  — 2: richer  — На­ли­чие союза than тре­бу­ет ис­поль­зо­ва­ния срав­ни­тель­ной сте­пе­ни при­ла­га­тель­но­го rich, об­ра­зу­ет­ся с по­мо­щью суф­фик­са  — er, так как это од­но­слож­ное при­ла­га­тель­ное: richer (бо­га­че).
